Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Execute regular cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and communal areas to uphold hygiene standards.
Waste Management:
- Empty and replace trash liners, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Adhere to recycling protocols in line with environmental regulations.
Floor Care:
- Maintain various flooring types like carpet, tile, and hardwood.
- Utilize floor-cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and buffers.
Window and Surface Cleaning:
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and surfaces as required.
- Ensure surfaces remain free from smudges, fingerprints, and marks.
Supply Management:
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and toiletries.
- Promptly report any supply shortages or equipment issues.
Safety Protocols:
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
- Utilize warning signs and personal protective equipment when necessary.
Building Security:
- Secure doors and windows during and after work hours.
- Report security concerns to appropriate authorities.
Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding facility-related matters.
- Coordinate cleaning schedules and tasks with team members.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a janitor or in a similar cleaning role preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their storage, and usage.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle cleaning tasks and equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Tasks:
- Perform sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing of hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Empty trash cans and waste containers.
- Clean windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct safety and security checks.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
