Job Description:
Position: Medical Personal Care Aide
Location: 600 Lake Street, St. Catharines, ON L2N 4J4
Salary: $22.71 per hour / 30 to 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility support and assistance with transferring or positioning as required.
Medication Management:
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document intake.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client’s health or medication reactions.
Companion Care:
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging in meaningful interactions and activities.
Meal Preparation:
- Prepare nutritious meals, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions, and assist with feeding as necessary.
Household Assistance:
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with grocery shopping and errands as requested.
Communication and Reporting:
- Effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Document daily activities and any changes in the client’s condition.
Client Advocacy:
- Advocate for the well-being and rights of the client, collaborating with the healthcare team to meet their needs.
Crisis Intervention:
- Remain calm and responsive in emergency situations, following established protocols and seeking assistance when needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Medical Personal Care Aide, Home Health Aide, or similar role preferred.
- Completion of relevant training programs or certifications as required by regulations.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to provide compassionate care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness to assist with mobility and perform caregiving tasks.
